Close to the airfield, on the western side lies Budapest CTR airspace. Entering the CTR only allowed with the permission of Budapest Tower.
Callsign of the airfield on 119.060 MHz is "Gödöllő Traffic". There is no AFIS provided on the frequency, traffic information is shared between pilots. Languages used: English, Hungarian.

It is expected and required from the pilots flying in the vicinity of the airfield to provide position reports and report intentions, even when there's no reply, due to the possibility of arriving traffic.

When arriving to the airfield from Northern directions, it is recommended to fly over the Hungaroring while approaching the airfield, and change to 119.060 MHz "Gödöllő Traffic" by the time  Hungaroring is reached. Due to TMA airspace, max allowed altitude is 2000ft AMSL.
When arriving to the airfield from Eastern directions, it is recommended to fly over the town Bag and then Godollo city while approaching the airfield, and change to 119.060 MHz "Gödöllő Traffic" over town Bag. Maximum recommended altitude is 2000ft AMSL.
When arriving to the airfield from South-eastern directions, it is recommended to fly over town Isaszeg  while approaching the airfield, and change to 119.060 MHz "Gödöllő Traffic" before Isaszeg (after abeam TPS VOR). Maximum recommended altitude is 2000ft AMSL.

By following the above mentioned recommendations, the arriving traffic will stay clear of the frequently used local training airspaces in the vicinity. (Refer to pictures)

The airfield has two runways: RWY 31/13 and RWY 22/04.
  • RWY 31/13 is separated to two identical parts by visual markings layed down. The runway can be used for takeoffs and landings, with the primary traffic circuit being 31LH/13RH. Traffic circuit altitude is 1700 AMSL (~1000 AAL).
  • RWY22 can be used only for landings, while RWY04 only for takeoffs. There's no traffic circuit published for the RWY.
Windsacks are located next to RWY 13 threshold and on the Northern side of the airfield.

When departing from LHGD to the Northwest, it is recommended to fly over Hungaroring and leave the frequency only when Hungaroring is passed. In case of South-easternly departures, it is recommended to leave towards TPS VOR station and leave the frequency only after town Isaszeg is passed.
In case of easternly departures, it is recommended to leave RWY31LH/RWY13RH downwind by flying overhead airfield and then proceed to town Bag through Gödöllő city.
